2. கத்தி - என்றால் - 2 காய் (in case of repetition(s), the correct-position one(s) will be picked first, just like Mastermind)
3. மதில் - என்றால் - 1 பழம்
4. மதுரை - என்றால் - 1 காய், 1 பழம்
5. திருகு - என்றால் - 3 பூ

Since currently the game is not interactive, I will give the trial words and the hints by myself. Please find the fitting word. I have checked that only one word fits the clues. But then my vocabulary is so limited, so any other word(s) fitting the scheme is also correct.

Well, if 5 people tell me it is boring, I'll scrap this post and will not attempt Tamil - 3 letters again!! Here you go ...

மூன்றெழுத்து -1

1. மகிமை
2. காதல்

Thanks Hari, done!

i too have the doubt , what does the sad face stand for?

Very interesting! I love your concept. I used to play cows/bulls when I was young; and was addicted enough to program an interactive version of the game using UNIX shell scripts :-)
The game is a bit more complex in Tamil, considering the number of possibilities for each position. With numbers, a 3-digit number can have only 10x10x10=1000 combinations; With Tamil words, a three letter word could have about 120x120x120=1728000 possibilities!! 120 is a random number I picked out of all the tamil letters, skipping improbable letters like ஞௌ.
I would suggest adding some more rules: Like, with numbers you cannot repeat (979 is not allowed).
Similarly, let us say repetition of letters from the same family is not allowed (like மகிமை).
Please do not give up on this if 5 people say boring. It just needs refinement to make it more viable and interesting.

Surjeet,
updated the post to include instruction on sad face.
And it meant that - I'm so sad to say "No" to you.

Or may be I'm sad, because "Nothing" is actually good for you, since 3 letters are outright eliminated, and you are getting near the goal.

Thank you Mr.Thirumoorthi.
Yes we need lots of refinement.

But disallowing repetition will be so unfair (personally my vocabulary will be defunct without it). May be I should temporarily exclude them from "Question Word", but still allow them in the hint words.

I'm just hoping that in spite of the number of letters , playing in Tamil should be easier. Like how, solving cryptic crosswords (solving - not setting :-) ) is easier in Tamil, since words dance before our eyes.
I'll try one more puzzle, without the answer to check - how it goes. Though, interactivity will be very nice. The logic doesn't flow easily-or-interesting, when somebody else gives the hint words.
